The UAPS on the Athabasca river, Jasper 2009We are a whitewater kayaking club based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Our focus is on introducing both youth and adults to kayaking as an active lifestyle choice. The UAPS teaches new members paddling skills in a pool, and then introduces them to paddling on the river with Alberta Whitewater Association certified coaches. Also the club runs several paddling trips in the summer.

UAPS Club T-shirts are still available.

NEW! Freestyle Weekend with Aquabatics July 7-8  Join Aquabatics Calgary and their instructional staff for a weekend of freestyle instruction and kayak demos at the Brierlies.  We will be bringing a bunch of the latest playboats up with us, along with 1 or 2 excellent freestyle coaches to help you progress your playboating skills.  As long as you have a reliable roll in Class III and some experience surfing/playing in holes this weekend will be a great progression of your skills. The instructors will focus on each participant's skill level and come up with a logical progression to improve your freestyle skills.  This could simply be control in a hole all the way through to the latest and greatest hole tricks.  Small group sizes ensure a lot of personal coaching attention.  We will also run some ‘fun’ rodeo heats to put into practise what you’ve learned.
