The program will consist of four weekend trips that will teach you the basics of paddling on the river.
The program consists of four trips over the summer:

Brierley's rapids on the North Saskatchewan River near Rocky Mountain House.

Brierley's rapids on the North Saskatchewan River near Rocky Mountain House or on the Red Deer River an hour southwest of Sundre (a step up in difficulty from the Brierley's ).

In Jasper on various rivers including the Athabasca and Whirlpool.
-
The Kananaskis river 45 minutes west of Calgary (a step up from the Red Deer River).
Registration
This course is always in high demand, so there is a registration process. The club opens registration at a general meeting in the Spring (April 30th 7:00 PM) to ensure that the process is open to everyone on a first-come first-served basis. Registration will be capped at 12 participants, and a waiting list will also be made. Due to the increasing challenge of the series of rivers, no students will be permitted to join this course during the summer.

Cost: $250 + Club Membership
The course fee includes instruction and equipment rental (kayak, spray skirt, paddle, PFD, and helmet).
Camping and parking fees are not included.
